Why should one consider the water hardness in the whirlpool?
If the water hardness is high, lime precipitation can occur in the whirlpool, resulting in clouding and biofilms in the pipes. Therefore, measures to control the water hardness are very important.
Short overview
Water has different hardnesses. The harder the water, the easier limestone can form.
Limestone settles in the pipes and causes biofilm.
Limestone can lead to turbid water and obstruct the filters.
You can request the water hardness from your water supplier or measure it with our total hardness test kit.
Measures against water hardness and lime precipitation
As long as the pH value still rises, only add UltraShock to the water. Permanently 0.5 to 1 mg/l UltraShock content in water. Adjust the water hardness and pH value in the whirlpool. Add SpaBalancer only 25% of the prescribed amount to the water. If the pH value remains stable and no longer rises, go over to normal water care..
Every 4 to 6 weeks lower the pH value to 5.0 for 24 hours and then adjust it to 6.8 to 7.2 again. (This removes any lime deposits in the pipes)
Water hardness and pH are in a direct correlation. The harder the water, the more difficult it is to lower the pH value and the faster the pH value rises again.
